Eye Spy What's Right!
All students, teachers and members of the community in School Districts 6 & 8 will have an opportunity to participate in EYE SPY WHAT’S RIGHT this month. This fun, easy, interactive event is taking place May 26th – 30th and is part of our Celebrate What’s Right with the World initiative.
How does it work?
During the week of May 26th and May 30th, students, staff and members of the community will have the opportunity to log-on to our EYE SPY WHAT’S RIGHT website and tell us something that is RIGHT with the world! Everyone who participates will be eligible for a prize! It’s that easy!
Win Prizes & Be Recognized!
An elementary school, middle school and high school in each school district with the greatest participation will win the EYE SPY WHAT’S RIGHT Trophy!
Random draws will be held so that one student from each grade level in every school will win an EYE SPY WHAT’S RIGHT prize!
Prizes will also be awarded to members of the community and School staff!
So start thinking about what YOU think is RIGHT with your world – and share the details with us starting May 26!
LOG-IN MAY 26TH-30TH AND TELL US WHAT YOU THINK IS RIGHT WITH THE WORLD!

I have sent 2 math evaluations home today and have asked that they be signed by parents. The students completed the same tests in October and again over the last 2 days. I'm thrilled with the results. There seems to be a lot of learning going on in Grade 5.
Also please remember that the science projects are due Friday, April 4, 2008. The students will need to practice the presentation portion of the project over the weekend as we'll start Monday with the oral portion.
Over the last couple of days we've been concentrating on reading comprehension. The students are having some difficulty so if parents have the time, please ask your children some questions about the books they're reading at night, even the English ones - modeling how to find the answers is so important.
Thanks again for all your help.

Reminder - Grade 5FI
Just a reminder that the science projects are due this coming Friday, April 4, 2008 - no exceptions. Please let me review your 'question' for the project, if I have not already done so on Monday. I would also like to see the progress of your project Monday afternoon so please ensure your work is at school.
We will be writing the math 'assessment' again this week - the one we wrote at the beginning of the year. This will let us see how much progress has been made in Math.
Enjoy the weekend. Mme Hamilton-Brown

Homework and Upcoming - Mme Hamilton-Brown
I hope all students have been enjoying the extra, extra long weekend. If you get a chance please read in French and English - a little longer than usual.
Also be gathering as much information about your science topic. The "Questions" are due on Tuesday. Please come to class, Tuesday ready to work on the science project.
Don't forget that the lunch money is due again on Wednesday next week.
Have a great weekend.
